Pink and Sparkly Soccer

Pink and sparkly soccer might look like regular soccer at first glance....shin guards, soccer goals, goals etc...but don't be confused..IT IS NOT THE SAME..

Pink and sparkly soccer also involved:

  1. attaining correct ballet first position on the 18 yard complete with hands over the head...

  2. frequent checking of our skirt to ensure one's "skort" was still under the skirt...at least 20 times.

  3. frequent sips of water from the new pink and sparkly metal water bottle we have.

  4. numerous hugs to our friends on both offense and defense.

  5. 2 field interuptions to pet the beautiful puppies on the sidelines

  6. Loud admiration of the other teams jerseys (HEY BOY! I LIKE YOUR BLUE SHIRT!)

  7. 7 checks in the field for 4 leaf clovers. (found 2 with a friend)

  8. 1 check over the hill to see the soccer ball in the creek

  9. 3 chances to hug and lift your friend off the ground

  10. running around the edge of the field, usually as far from the ball as possible

  11. help the goalie get her foot unstuck from the net in the goal.

  12. get our own foot unstuck from the net in the goal

  13. 2 short pauses to redo our pony tail

  14. 1 pause to redo our friend's pony tail

  15. 6 random moments to spin

  16. 1 visit to the other team practicing on the other side of the field

  17. ZERO actual touching of the ball with our feet or hands

  18. and the most fun of all..chant "Go Red Devils" loudly and frequently like coach showed us

Easter Morning

7:30 am Easter Sunday morning....

the girls slip downstairs to see what the Easter Bunny brought them. They run upstairs to share their new found treasures.....

youngest daughter.....Mommy mommy, the Easter Bunny brought me a beer thing...look look...a beer thing.

Easter Bunny brought her a bottle cap necklace with a fancy "K" on it.

Hmmm, I wonder who her mommy is...

Doing math

Dad: So you have 5 nickels and I take away 3 nickels...how many nickels to you have left?
Daughter: I don't like nickels, I like pennies..they are shiny.
Dad: right, ok, but how many nickels do you have.
Daughter: Pennies are for girls and nickels are for boys.
Dad:.ok, let's say you have 5 pennies (lays pennies on the table) and I take 3 pennies away..how many pennies do you have left?
Daughter: I have lots of pennies in my bank...my bank is pretty, green and pink and that is my favorite color..
Dad: (frustration growing): Let's try this with fingers....(shows hand)..if I have 5 fingers and take away 2 fingers, how many fingers do you have left.....
Daughter: (holding up her hands) I have 5 fingers daddy...5 on each hand. How many do you have....
Dad: taking her hands...ok if you have 5 fingers (counts them out) and take away 2 (fold 2 down) how many fingers do you have....
Daughter: Daddy, I like it when you hold my hand. I love you.
Dad: I love you too honey....Wife! you are gonna need to do math with her, I can't do this...

Welcome to our pink and sparkly world......

Better write it down or you will forget it...

So maybe Grandma is right..it is time to write it all down before we forget it...so we decided to use the technology available and write it down as it happens..mostly as a record for us, but also as a fun way for you to share with us the crazy, sparkly and totally random world that is our youngest daughter.....enjoy the ride.
